Prayer requests and God's faithfulness

Good morning, we are 3 days away from leaving to go to Scotland. I can't believe how the time has flown. For the past 14 weeks our team has been meeting every Tuesday night to pray, learn, discuss, get to know each other and spend time in the Word in preparation for our trip. Last night was our last meeting and I am so excited to see how the Lord is going to use each one of us to glorify His great name.

As I sat here this morning having my quiet time with the Lord I spent time in Ephesians and was reminded that we have been saved by grace-it is a gift from the Lord. How thankful I am of that gift. He also reminded me of a song that has become my prayer for this trip. It is the newest song by the Getty's and my prayer is that we will bring glory to His great name.

Before you I kneel my Master and Maker
to offer the work of my hands
for this is the day you’ve given your servant
I will rejoice and be glad
For the strength I have to live and breathe
for each skill your grace you have given me
for the needs and opportunities
that will glorify Your great name.
Before you I kneel and ask for your goodness
to cover the work of my hands
For patience and peace to shape all my labour
your grace for thorns in my path
Flow within me like a living stream
wade away the stones of pride and greed
till your ways are dwelling deep in me
and a harvest of life is grown
Before you we kneel our Master and Maker
establish the work of our hands
and order our stands to seek first your kingdom
in every small and great task
May we live the Gospel of your grace
serve your purpose in our feeding days
then our lives will bring eternal praise
to glory to your great name
add glory to your great name

My prayer is that as we offer the work of our hand, we will rejoice knowing we are serving our Master and Maker and to Him is all the glory.

We were sharing last night about how the Lord has provided over the last 14 weeks and I wanted to share some of them with you:
-health
-our team
-family support
-over 45 donated Bibles
-deep convicting conversations
-drawing near to the Lord
-LAUGHTER
-housing in Scotland
-time to meet every week
-ministry with making meals
-a friend of ours from OCF is studying in Scotland and we are going to meet up with him. To see how the Lord will use Paul in all that we are doing
-God's financial provision
-boys yard work
-joy in serving
-the local tennis pro is a believer (David)
-spending quality time in the Word
-prayer support from the body of Christ
-logistics
-a love for the people in Scotland

I could go on and on, there are so many ways the Lord has blessed us with. Please continue to pray for each one of us by name. Trey, Josh, Emma, Corinne and Kirstie. We are going to need to be lifted up. Please pray for the following
-for strength
-for our time on the courts as each day we have the opportunity to share our faith during break time
-for Trey and Josh as they lead a Bible study on the tennis courts
-that we will die to self and walk in the Spirit
-health
-travel safety
-boldness to share
-opportunities to share the Gospel
-discernment
-that we will have quiet time to reflect and refocus
-for all the last minute preparations
-for family left behind
-that the people in Stevenston will share their needs, so we can go and serve
-that many will hear the Gospel and be saved
and above all else that HIS NAME WILL BE GLORIFIED

Scotland!

In less than a week, we will board a plane for Scotland.  We are extremely excited to be traveling together as a team.  The five of us have met every Tuesday night for 15 weeks: having dinner together, studying God's WORD and planning our trip (and having A LOT of laughs in the process).  We have grown very close as a team.  Each of us has our own personal reasons for going, our own gifts that we bring to the team but what really binds us is our love for Jesus.  While, we love tennis - we love Jesus more.  We will be relying on the Lord to direct our steps to whom and what He would have us to do.  I am confident we will have many cups of tea and wonderful conversations. All of us will have many opportunities to talk about our faith, share our testimony, and live out our belief in the Risen Lord. Most importantly, in everything we do, we strive to glorify our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Counting down the days...

Only one week from now, we will be landing on our mission field...Scotland!!! Personally, I am practically bursting with anticipation. I know that the rest of the team is extremely excited as well. I am just so in awe of the fact that our great, wise, good, and all-powerful God would allow us to do His work for Him. The fact that He will use us, be with us, lead us, put words in our mouths, and has totally provided for our logistical (hope that's a word) needs just astounds me. I look forward to building relationships with the Scots and hopefully picking up their accent while I'm there. =D Please pray for the salvation of the unbelievers we come in contact with; even if only one commits to following Jesus, all the hard work and hours of preparation will be completely and totally worth it.

3 weeks!

In about 3 weeks we will be off to Scotland on a mission trip! In Scotland we will be working with a tennis club in Kilmarnock which is about an hour from Edinburgh and also serving the community in a town close to Kilmarnock We are really looking forward to what the Lord is going to work in our lives, and are super excited about this opportunity that we have to witness, teach and encourage the Scottish people. All of us would really appreciate prayer for our trip. Pray that the hearts of the Scottish people would be open to the Gospel, that we will have clarity in our thoughts and witnessing, that we will be safe, but most importantly; that God would be glorified by all that we do. That we always have our eyes on the cross, and focused on Him, because He will lead us. This is something I wrote to our team a couple of days ago, and I think it reflects all of our excitement.

{ In 1 month we will be cruising into the bonny land of Scotland. As we look out the windows of the airplane our eyes will light up with delight at the coming future.The great, green land will stretch out before us like a never-ending dream, but this dream is our reality, it is what we have worked so hard for.  Finally we will be there, the place where all of our hard work, discipline, and training will culminate. We will be at the hands of God. He will lead us where He wills and in every situation we will demonstrate, kindness, grace, mercy and love because we will be shepherded by God. Even if somethings go wrong, we will be in the hand of our Savior where nothing can harm us. }

Purpose of our trip

The purpose of our Scotland mission trip is to minister to believers and unbelievers alike. We are going to try to reach them through any way possible. Some of those ways will be teaching the kids and teens tennis and during breaks we will share the Gospel with them. We will also be praying, ministering and serving other people in Stevenston and Kilmarnock, in every way we can. At all times we desire and aspire to model how to live for Christ on a daily basis.
