It is Friday evening and the days seem to be flying past. We are all doing well, tired, exhilarated, full of joy, amazed at God's goodness and blessed to be here in Scotland. We have had a little rain, a lot of clouds and some sun, about 62 today. Blessed!
Today we spent the morning at the High Kirk in Stevenston doing yard work. Sweet dear Margaret worked beside us all morning. We dug up weeds and cut back bushes. Trey and Josh bought a leaf blower to help the church keep the drive way clean. It is a long drive way! What fun to serve together.
We left Stevenston to drive over to Kilmarnock where the boys played several hours of tennis with the kids here and Emma visited with some of the girls. It was neat to see how the Lord used the time Emma had with the girls. They were believers and were a great encouragement to Emma as she was to them. Corinne and I had some precious time walking through the streets of Kilmarnock. That almost sounds like a song. We also got to have a wee cup of tea with our dear friend Elaine.
As many of you know Wimbledon is being played while we are over here. Being that we all love to watch and play tennis we talked about how cool would it be to be in Scotland if Andy Murray would make it to the final. You have to understand it has been over 60+ years since a Brit has won Wimbledon. Our team plus 9 teenagers were piled into the home of the Tait's watching and cheering for Andy. The atmosphere was amazing and so was the laughter and clapping. Andy did end up winning the semi final match so on Sunday afternoon we will all be together again watching the Wimbledon final with Scotland's own- Andy Murray. Maybe he can pull it out.
We are being well fed over here. From morning to night our host families are taking very good care of us. Tonight Joann offered to make dinner for us all and that ended up being for 17 people. The food was amazing. All the kids ended up going outside to dig up weeds in the Tait's driveway and then they spread out 3 tons of stone. It was brilliant to see our team working together with the boys over here.
Our dear friends the Tuthills are here so we were able to spend a cup of tea with Pauline.
A long, exhausting day but full of many blessings. We are seeing the Lord guide conversations, opportunities to serve and grow each one of us. May we continue to bring glory to His great name!!!
Tomorrow morning we will be back in Stevenston for the mens and ladies breakfast. Please be praying for us as we get up in front of everyone and sharing about our relationship with Jesus. We are looking forward to sweet conversations with the people attending.
We love you all and thank you for your prayers and support. GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME.
