Tennis Camp

One week ago, I arrived home after two weeks in Scotland.  My life will forever be changed because my heart is so full for the people and the land.  One highlight for me was our time with the children at tennis camp.  One day, we spoke of friendship.  I asked the children, "what makes a good friend, what qualities do you like in a friend, is your friend always able to talk to you?" I talked about my friendships, our team that traveled to Scotland, my husband but then I talked about my BEST FRIEND, Jesus Christ.  Jesus is always there for me. He's never too busy.  And He even laid down his life for me because He loves me SO much so that we will be together forever.  And, HE LOVES them and all people THAT MUCH.  Jesus said, "Love each other as I loved you.  Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-13

On another day, we handed out salvation bracelets, which were handmade by Sydney Cook (Josh and Trey's sister).  We then explained the plan of salvation through the colors on the bracelets.

  • YELLOW - God loves us and desires a relationship with us.  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16
  • BLACK-   Sin is what separates us from God. We choose to disobey God. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:23
  • Red - Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, paying the price and penalty for our sin. He provided the only way to God. "But God demonstrates His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Roman 5:8
  • White- When we become Christian God cleanses us from all unrighteousness and washes us whiter than snow."  But you know that He appeared so that He might take away our sins. And in Him is no sin." 1 John 3:5 "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." Isa 1:18 NKJ
  • Green We must now grow as a believer in all areas of our life. Looking at Jesus as our example.  "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen." 2 Peter 3:18 NKJ
Join me in continuing to pray for these young folks that heard the Gospel message that they will come to know and love Jesus Christ.
